It was funny Fatboy - I thought I was a decent footballer and then came up against pros who you watch on tv and think “he’s shit” - they hardly gave me a kick! 😀

Played in the Lancashire Schools Cup Final at Deepdale, lost 4-2.

On the day of the Steel City derby, played CB for Wednesday fans vs Blades fans. Went to clear a ball in our crowded penalty area and our 18st keeper landed on me and snapped my leg under my knee. They carried me to the sideline and I watched most of the 2nd half, we won 5-4.

Missed 12 weeks of work and still have a large pin through my leg.

Hi Gary played my last game for Sqiures Gate before I moved to Leicester for my new job along side you up front. The game was at Mechanics
that Sat afternoon on a hot day in August.
 
I’ve won the Airfix slot racing world championship a couple of times and Timbertops has won it a few times too. Originally in St Anne’s but moved to Guildford some years ago.
 
I won Goalkeeper of the year in my Division and County League in my first ever time donning the gloves also three provincial medals

Played for Blackpool Mechanics and was part of a mean defence that kept clean sheets away at the likes of Barrow and Accrington Stanley. We just didn’t score many at the other end either.

Banda, not wanting to piss on your chips pal but Warwick didn't win the LFA Sunday Trophy, before my Mammas side won it in 93 and 94 only Marklynn Motors in 1979 had won it from around here.

Did Warwick Southpool (later Boston Hotel) not play in two Lancs finals? I remember losing at Leyland Motors ground in one (2-1 I think) and thought we won the year after. I'm flaming losing it. You are the Sunday League expert after all!

Banda, I think you're right there, I believe they lost in two pal. I have the full list of winners from the first final in 1972.

I was lucky enough to manage my teams in seven finals, winning four of them.

won the harry Johnston final at bloomers and the Lancashire schools cup at sleepdale in a great warbreck team
won the league almost every season and most of the cup finals as well
represent the town team u14+15
