Blackpool Are Back!

Maybe they could extend the Season Ticket early bird date, now that people know the POTG prices.
Have they said that away fans are in the south end of the east? With away fans in the South end of the East, I'm guessing the end block in front of the Corner Flag will be kept as a barrier zone.
Yes.Have they said that away fans are in the south end of the east?
Away fans will go to the North half once the South end allocation is sold out, not before.Yes.
The sensible way to work out how much that lot should pay is £10 per finger.......just done a quick calculation & yes your correct £100 sounds accurateAs long knob Enders are charged 100 quid
I had a look the other week on some footy site and the average away attendance was 1500 in the Championship the season before the pandemic. Each half of the East holds at least 2300 so, even accounting for an uptick because it's Blackpool, that's still a stretch for most clubs. Also, the idea of giving PNE or Rovers 5500 fans down the entire length of the ground is just a dreadful idea. It won't happen though because the police won't allow it.Most teams won't struggle to sell half the East at all. It's not League One.
And I can see the logic in selling out areas where you have stewarding etc sorted first before opening a new section with different access, turnstiles, stewards, catering etc.
Looking at the teams in the Division, at least half will bring over 2,000, many more in some cases.I had a look the other week on some footy site and the average away attendance was 1500 in the Championship the season before the pandemic. I'm guessing the north side will be largely empty unless there's home demand.
According to a few on here we had sold over 8,000 a couple of weeks ago.Just announced
You take pleasure in that?According to a few on here we had sold over 8,000 a couple of weeks ago.
500 must have given them back?
Add to that Sheff Utd, WBA, Forest and possibly Derby, QPR and Fulham.Other than PNE & Blackburn I cant imagine there will be many cat A games, so £26 or less for a walk up ticket to a championship game doesn’t see too bad to me.
Pleasure?You take pleasure in that?
The club are going to have to be careful with this Cat A.Add to that Sheff Utd, WBA, Forest and possibly Derby, QPR and Fulham.
(The we should be in the premier league teams)
You lead quite a sad life if you find that hilariousPleasure?
I find it hilarious if anything.
I think your missing the point here. You lead quite a sad life if you find that hilarious
Actually the last dot count was around 7,800 and approximately 7,500, with the key word being approximately, that could be right.I think your missing the point here.
We’ve had fans telling us for weeks we’ve sold well over 8,000 season tickets yet truth be told we’re no where near it.
Yes hilarious and thanks for asking but I can assure you that I live far from a sad life.
'How many have the cods sold, by the way?'Actually the last dot count was around 7,800 and approximately 7,500, with the key word being approximately, that could be right.
How many have the Cods sold, by the way?
I’ve absolutely no idea but why do you ask? It’s a Blackpool board isn’t it?Actually the last dot count was around 7,800 and approximately 7,500, with the key word being approximately, that could be right.
How many have the Cods sold, by the way?
You never have an idea, but do nothing but praise everything about the place, as if its the model of how to run a club.I’ve absolutely no idea but why do you ask? It’s a Blackpool board isn’t it?
Anyway if you need an answer ask your mate Comical Allez he's obsessed with them so he should know.
I think your missing the point here.

Yeah Tangerine tractor did the app thing and minused off any showing sold against the safety cert numbers.Actually the last dot count was around 7,800 and approximately 7,500, with the key word being approximately, that could be right.
How many have the Cods sold, by the way?
Every credit to all that are counting the dots and all that, I wish I had time but at the end of the day we’re going to have a big crowd regardless of season tickets being sold- pay on the gate due to the flu thing will make the numbers up & it’s going to be a rocking atmosphere so I couldn’t really care less if we sell 8k or 10k , numbers will rise by February as we start to get in our stride and storm the league - oh & we will with the transfer window being a good one if neededYeah Tangetine tractor did the app thing and minused off any showing sold against the safety cert numbers.
He did say in his first post it doesn't take into account possibly the rows on the north etc.
I did separate counts and physically counted 7816, I correctly didn't include the north 2 front rows and 1 row of the south not showing on the planner. There was then a few more sold on top maybe 40.
Have a look yourself at the planner if you want and thats how many are showing as sold. Not a lot else we could go off.
Clealry there's something out by about 300, whether freebies not counted to kids maybe, seats reserved for staff etc or something else or a combination.
If you look on the st thread whenever the over 8k figures were mentioned and everyone was rejoicing, I always said the actual numbers aren't that and mentioned the counts I did properly taking off unavailable rows.
Was still higher for an unknown reason though.
Another Season Ticket update
I think 12,000 plus would be a great average when you throw into the mix lots of mid week games and the fact we could well find ourselves in the bottom half of the table given how newly promoted teams usually fair.avftt.co.uk
Away fans are in East south and if they sell that out will be given the East north. If they don’t then east north will go to BlackpoolI think the prices are quite expensive for walk-ons. That said, there aren't many seats available in L,M.N blocks anyway so the number of £38/£50 seats to sell is minimal.
I think they'll split the categories based on away support so we can maximise revenue.
Why no prices for the East though? Am assuming away fans will be in the south end as block Y & Z are not on sale but hoped we'd got past the stage where parts of the ground are shut down.
What if they sell the 2500 but only sell a few hundred more in the north part.Away fans are in East south and if they sell that out will be given the East north. If they don’t then east north will go to Blackpool
I think they will have a good idea and take each game as it comes. What if they sell the 2500 but only sell a few hundred more in the north part.
No east for pool fans and limited space in the 3 sides for any newcomers or last minute buys bar the very front rows.
The club should be doing all it can to fill that north east with pool fans imo.
120!The sensible way to work out how much that lot should pay is £10 per finger.......just done a quick calculation & yes your correct £100 sounds accurate
Yet these poor people wear expensive trainers, Satellite TV, latest iPhone etc.£30 pay on the gate (single matchday purchase) is a little steep. I'm sure the well paid posters will think it's peanuts? When you consider a very large majority of Blackpool/Fylde workers clear circa £7.50 an hour (net) it is over half a days pay for a single person. If you are paying for a family of 5 it is getting close to half a weeks wages!
These same people won't have the income to buy season tickets.
Choices isn't it? A pair of trainers last me 3 to 4 years, that works out at £30 a year for the most expensive trainers - or about the same as 1.5 hours at a football match! Similarly for a phone or TV package, do the maths.Yet these poor people wear expensive trainers, Satellite TV, latest iPhone etc.
Money seems no object at the moment.
For all you moaners, how much did you save during NAPM years.
Stupid example.Choices isn't it? A pair of trainers last me 3 to 4 years, that works out at £30 a year for the most expensive trainers - or about the same as 1.5 hours at a football match! Similarly for a phone or TV package, do the maths.
It is hardly moaning if somebody points out that the current single ticket price is prohibitive to some's personal finance. If as a family of 5 you attend a game as a pay on the day I'm guessing that would be circa £100 a game . . . or a pair of trainers which will last up to 4 years!
Completely agree, just repeating what was said in Monday’s meetingWhat if they sell the 2500 but only sell a few hundred more in the north part.
No east for pool fans and limited space in the 3 sides for any newcomers or last minute buys bar the very front rows.
The club should be doing all it can to fill that north east with pool fans imo.
A bit of a silly post. Why would you watch AFC Fylde when you are a Blackpool fan?Stupid example.
It cost me £1500 for a ticket to Wembley last Sunday. I could have booked a decent holiday or bought new range of clothing or shoes. Do I regret it, no!
Memories are priceless.
The club have a repayment scheme for persons who cannot afford to buy in one instalments.
Pool fans have to be in the real World and expect to pay more like they will find out on away travels.
You either support a Sadler run club who has ambitions and now a Championship club or watch AFC Fylde where admission is cheaper.
If people are in that predicament they probably can't afford £60 to go to a match either so what do you do pander to those less well off while trying to run a Championship club it simply won't work.A bit of a silly post. Why would you watch AFC Fylde when you are a Blackpool fan?
I think you've also reinforced my point. If you've got £1500 to spend on tickets you are not in the group I was referring to.
How would you expect a struggling family to pay for several season tickets using a repayment scheme when they are struggling to pay their household bills each week?
Some people are not living in the real world. They just don't understand how spending £100 for a family to watch ONE game of football is as much as they probably have spare for a month, so do us a favour Rockerfeller get off your high horse!
I agree. If people are in that predicament they probably can't afford £60 to go to a match either so what do you do pander to those less well off while trying to run a Championship club it simply won't work.
Quarter of a million people live in the Fylde not everyone is skint.
Yes, which was backed by BST.Didn't Everton (our great #NAPM supporters) have a campaign 20 is plenty?
I've often wondered how inflated PNE's attendances are because of their massive away allocation. Anyone know their average over the last few years?
Wouldn't bet on that mate - seems that Sky can't travel further north than Preston! Most of these potential cat A fixtures - PNE, Blackburn possibly WBA are going to get us on TV so I’m not sure 28/30 quid is going to attract full houses.
I didn't believe that but it's true!If you think our sale figures weren’t great you should be glad were not Blackburn. Apparently they’ve only sold 3000 for the coming season so far
Think the key point there was that fans would put up with shocking conditions in the ground that wouldn't happen these days. I've been on many a terrace where it was physically impossible to move around comfortably, and the facilities consisted of a brick wall with a gutter at the base of it, relying on rain to 'flush'. It's only 20 years since the West paddock bogs were like that.Football is not necessarily a routine mass entertainment for the average working man anymore. To illustrate my point...
In April 1953, the average man’s weekly wage for manual work was 185s 11d.
You could buy the cheapest terrace ticket for that year’s FA Cup final for 3s 6d.
In 2020, the average annual wage in the U.K. was £31,461
On a straight comparison, this means that a 2020 FA Cup final ticket might have been £11.39 on the same basis.
Even if 1950s First Division league matches were only half that price for the terrace, less than 2s (and seats at Arsenal in 1953 cost 8s 6d each, terraces were POTG) then it’s clear that, in comparative terms, football for the average man costs at least 4 times as much (£20 min) as it did in the 1950s, and in London Prem grounds probably more than 10 times as much.
Of course a lot of that cost factor is driven by better facilities, safer grounds with all seating, players’ wages etc. But the effective 4x to 10x difference in price, compared with wages, makes it a much more serious decision for the average single-wage family today.
It must be remembered that there was significant grant money available to clubs to build new stadiums during the major redevelopment phase and really, I think we're kidding ourselves that the biggest driver is anything other than player wages.Think the key point there was that fans would put up with shocking conditions in the ground that wouldn't happen these days. I've been on many a terrace where it was physically impossible to move around comfortably, and the facilities consisted of a brick wall with a gutter at the base of it, relying on rain to 'flush'. They'll have a big crowd when 'The Mighty Pool' go to Dungdale.Anybody know how many the nobbers have sold?
