Biden to Win -Just

The big infant in charge has shown for four years that the scenario unfolding was always going to happen. He's not fit for public office, and it's surely clear even to his supporters on here that he's subverting the whole democratic process and is gravely damaging confidence for the future.

Agree with that SATW. I've spent quite a bit of time in the US and working for US companies. First time my wife came with me to the US I said that she would find it more foreign than going to France/Spain and despite her not believing me before we went she agreed fully after we had been there a while.

I do really though like the majority of Americans but their culture is vastly different to ours and also varies greatly between different states. I worked for a firm that hadn't facilities in the mid-West and the West coast and the difference in culture between the 2 was massive.

If they haven't seen that in 4 years there is little chance of them changing now. The mark is usually the last person to accept that they have been conned.

PA I think is likely to go for Biden, there's something like 600k votes to come they seem to be splitting roughly 75/25 for Biden, the lead is down to 150k so in the end Biden to win by 150k or so.

Georgia I think is too close to call, the cities are trending heavily for Biden, the rural counties Trump, there's only 23,000 in it and my impression is that the count might be slightly more advanced in the rural areas, possibly there's enough margin to flip this to Biden.

Nevada is dominated by Vegas whose count is 2% behind the state average however the other big county also tending for Biden is some way ahead, the average for the two is 85%, 1% behind the state average and Vegas is trending more strongly for Biden than Washoe, so I think it's likely that Biden's 8,000 lead will go up rather than down, but it's very close.

The betting odds are 1/5 to 1/6 for Biden, I think that's good value compared to what you can get for Trump (9/2 to 7/2).

If things do work out like this then it gives Biden about 300 votes which was about midway on the 538 predictions site and was about where I predicted this when we were asked on a different thread - maybe the pollsters were not so far out as it seemed yesterday.
It would be very good if PA calls it today, thus ending the uncertainty and hopefully restoring some order to the streets. As I said before, a Biden victory needs a public response from the decent republicans, and they should be telling Trump to start packing his bags. If there is only really Trump and Guliani left contesting things then it will seem like an irrelevence and things can move on. In this scenario, I could imagine Trump holding a series of rallies to try to whip up discontent and foment something like a civil war. I really hope not.

I wouldn't worry too much, a civil war would be the actual army against a bunch of portly blokes in pickup trucks with guns from Walmart.

18k lead for Trump in Georgia with approx 50k votes left to declare. If, and a big if, they continue to break at 70 % for Biden as they have been doing then Biden wins GA.

It will be a mandatory recount whatever happens as they are mandatory if margin is less than 0.5 %. As said previously recounts only tend to move counts a few hundred at most so unless we are below a few thousand vote margin a recount is highly unlikely to change the result.

You can request a recount if margin is less than 1 %. Trump will request a recount in Wisconsin but will lose it. The Democrats requested a recount in Wisconsin in 2016 and the result was Trump's margin going up by a couple of hundred.

Seems like the Democrats have been up to major dirty tricks all over the nation and its going to be the Supreme Courts that will make the final decision.
The Democrats have been after Trump since day 1 and they thought they could use this election to oust him, seems now a few will be going to jail. How can anybody trust a party that is prepared to use corruption to win an election to run their country. You only have to look at the Clintons, Obama and Biden himself to see how low they are prepared to stoop.

Apparently any ballots which have arrived after the polls shut will now not be counted including postal votes.

Fake news indeed. This was specifically fact-checked yesterday - and although turnout in this group of voters was very high it was still around 400,000 short of the actual number of votes cast.

Plus this is one of those states where you can register on the day you vote, which obviously would not show up on the registration lists that were compiled some time ago.

Very marginal on those figures, 2:1 gives Biden an extra 17k out of 50k, not enough on the face of it, either way I suspect it's going to be a matter of a few thousand if not hundreds of votes.
 
When Trump is ousted from the White House he should be sent to Mexico along with the rest of his inner circle. Then build a wall to stop them getting back, but it would have to be done quick as I don’t think they’d be around for too long.

The lawsuits in Pennsylvania are whoppers. At least one of them requires election officials to perform functions that they are obliged to do by law anyway. And the issue about accepting "late" ballots has been before the State and US Supreme Courts three times already without any intervention to change the law (this provides that as long as they are postmarked by Nov 3 postal votes can continue to be accepted up to a stipulated deadline - tomorrow afternoon, I think). Plus this demand to be allowed to observe the count overlooks the fact that they are.. er..... allowed to have people in the room to observe already.

if you want balance, the Democrat news conference of about half a hour ago was very different.

Yes, and the partisan Trump lawyers are required to stand at least 25 feet away from the counters to prevent any risk of interference. I think that’s what they are complaining about as they claim they can’t see everything in the detail they want to. But, actually, they just want to interfere.

Some sympathy with Trump on the rigging of votes-we had the same problem when Mad Freddie Fingers the Layton 'stute crown bowling champ stood at a previous General Election, on purely a 'bring sanity to politics' policy with the Layton Popular Front.

The electoral colleges on Westcliffe Drive, Grenfell Road and Caunce Street had him with 95% of the vote,but somehow the ballot box was tampered with and both Labour and the Cons ran away with the vast proportion of it.

No idea what happened but I suspect it came from somewhere within the M25...

That's not so in Pennsylvania - one of the key battlegrounds. They can be accepted without a legible postmark. This is the issue.

CNN: '...The (US Supreme) court declined to take up a challenge from Pennsylvania Republicans over the state's mail-in ballot deadline, leaving in place -- for now -- a state Supreme Court decision that ballots can be received up to three days after the election, even if there is no legible postmark. Later, the court allowed for counting ballots in North Carolina received up to nine days after the election as long as they are postmarked by Election Day.'
