Blackpool v Barnsley Official Matchday Thread 25.09.21

They've had five draws from 8 so I think it's going to be tight and won by the odd goal... I'll back us 2-1 Bowler and Lavery (Not saying Yates because I back him every week and I'm normally wrong, hope this is the week he gets off the mark from open play 🙂)
 
Barnsley are always a tough, no nonsense side to play against.
They're drawing most games this season, but if we start well & not take until the second half to start playing, I predict a 2-1 win for the Pool.
 
Can't wait for this. Massive weekend of sport with the Ryder Cup, AJ v Usyk and the highlight of it all is us v Barnsley. I think an early goal for Bowler, late goal for big Ek and 3 in the middle, 5:0 to The Mighty 🧡🧡

I couldn't get to the last game, went on the app store, downloaded SurfShark, logged into a server in the US, visited the pool site who will now give you the option to watch the game as they think your overseas. Worked like a charm

Do I need to purchase the match in TTV still?
 
Sadly I can’t make it today which is a shame as I’d like to have seen Barnsley lose 3-1.

Hopefully the lead will be secured early doors so we don’t have to suffer the usual last 10 minutes, edge of the seat stuff.
 
Can any of us really predict how we’ll do at the moment? Will it be the team who failed to emerge for the second half against Huddersfield or the team who played so well against Fulham and second half at ‘Boro last week
So I’m going 1-1
 
Sitting on the train surrounded by Barnsley supporters. All in a good mood and plenty of beer flowing.
 
We've only scored one goal in 4 Championship games at BR this season so we ought to be cautious with our predictions I reckon!

Hopefully today will be the day it clicks up front. Fingers crossed.
 
Would like to see a little bravery and someone take a couple of shots from 20/25 yards when the space opens up. Would be good to get an early goal to settle us down too.
 
Who will he start with up top today, that’s the question. I’d like to see the old partnership of Madine and Yates, very successful in L1 and not really given the chance yet this season. Then introduce Lavery, if not started, in the second half to mix things up.
 
Lavery is undroppable imo. Yates needs to sharpen up. Certainly wouldn’t mind seeing more of the Goal Machine.
Having said that, wouldn’t be at all surprised if NC rotates the Yates/Lavery option this week and starts Yates instead.

Without looking into each one, from memory it seems like they've all been when it's been floated in at the back post. With 2 decent right backs now, who can defend, and Garbutt finding his feet, we don't have to get too badly out of shape now.
I'm hoping that stat improves significantly from here on in
