Bournemouth v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 21.08.21

Ward and Dougall are going to have their hands full again. Unless the players in front of them help out a lot more.

Hopefully Marvin can make a difference in defence. Optimistic we might surprise a few and come away with a point. If we do get beat will not be too upset.

I prefer to get our best players on for the longest time possible.
Critch sees it differently, and he's a professional football coach with years of experience at Crewe and Liverpool, and he works with our squad every day, and he signed Lavery, so he rates him.

The more Lavery plays the better he’ll be, particularly finishing. In games like today, is attack not the best form of defence? He gives us an out all the time with his pace. I’ve see nothing from TJJ to suggest he helps us going forward or defensively. Might be a very good player, but the way he plays, I’m not sure he’s a good fit in our team.

Plus if we’re going to be under the cosh, why isn’t CJ starting, he’s an outlet with his pace and he can score goals

4-4-2 again is just laughable. The three Bournemouth midfielders will have a field day. Fuck paying a tenner to watch another self destruct performance

(Hope have egg on my face)

If Garbutt is playing wing-back on the left, with Bowler up the right wing then Anderson may have a free-roaming role behind the front two. There's a chance of that working.

I did a little cheer when I saw was Marv was back in place of Keogh, and a larger groan in seeing TJJ on instead of Lavery. Critch must see things in training from TJJ that we don't see in games?

I only hope he'll bring Lavery on with plenty of time to influence the game, that is, at 60 minutes instead of 75.

Come on the Pool! 🍊 🍊

Thinking maybe Jules and Bowler wide and Keshi central mid. Yates alone up front. CJ and Lavery to come on for last 30 against tired D. Maybe Carey for Keshi as well for last 15.

TJJ definitely has ability and will improve as the team improves. You'd expect out only scorer so far this season to start though, if fully fit.

I suspect Keshi and Bowler will be wide and JY and TJJ down the middle. Hasn't worked well thus far. Didn't work well at Morecambe.

Disagree, against Cardiff, he had 11 touches, not his fault that the back four can’t find a pass and on Tuesday he looked sharp when he came on. He needs minutes and this could be the perfect game
It was absolutely unforgivable to not even hit the target with that chance 5 mins from time…

Yes, we are in total agreement. I'm hoping he'll improve just like Simms did when he acclimatised to the men's game. I'd rather he learned his trade in Cup games, and coming on as a sub, rather than taking a starting place from an accomplished forward.
