Chris Badlan gone

Looking at the club statement it seems he’s been potted perhaps he gave free tickets to all those Cov fans in corporate who were acting and behaving like bellenders!

I suppose it's a good sign.

SS being ruthless presumably and will keep trying until the right people are recruited. It does look a bit daft that he was only just hired 5 months ago... but if he's a bad egg....
 
Ive no idea what has happened or why with this, what I do know though, is if I was thevowner I'd be on the rampage at the moment so maybe this is just getting the house in order.

Leaking the team news thing again just seems to be speculation. Maybe there is some other reason. If he’s been sacked I’m sure they will have evidence to back it up. Otherwise they’ll have a massive compo claim on there hands

I misread Bayern's post, I thought he was saying that the club statement was suggesting that the reason he'd been let go was due to Cov fans in corporate and thought I must have been missing something.

I think the close season is too late, it puts us on the back foot from the off.
We have seen previously the damage leaving things until its too late causes.
 
Badlan was recommend by Nolan & Partners apparently...or at least they helped.

Leaking team news the night before a derby game whilst on the piss as the sporting director of the club is massively unprofessional. Doing it as a footballer is bad enough but as a high ranking member of the club's backroom staff is something else. Imagine a comparative scenario in any other industry, the rest of the board room would be seething.

The Arndale comment might not have been malicious but it's a representation of how much this bloke mustn't give a fuck. He is the club's biggest legend and hardly some minnow footballer, former England captain, World Cup winner, took Leeds to a Champions League final, was a prominent radio pundit. The sporting director of the club can't even get his name right to someone who owns a supporters club that's named after him. The sporting director of Blackpool FC mistakes Jimmy Armfield with a shopping centre in Manchester, we have a supporters club and a STAND named after him. There is a huge mural and a statue outside the ground for the fuck sake.

There could possibly be more to it, but those stories are enough to paint a picture of this blokes professionalism at Blackpool. I don't think it's just an attempt to look like we're doing something as the leaking of the team is just coming to light for most of us now, the Arndale comments the other day and I don't think anyone is blaming the sporting director who came in, in November for what is going on right now. If Sadler wanted to look like he was just doing something he'd have potted Mansford as a scapegoat. Most won't have much of a clue about this Badlan bloke so it just makes us look like a clusterfuck.

If the leaking teams news rumour is true then I can't imagine Sadler would take kindly to that, a) as a football club owner and b) as a hedge fund manager (insider info leaking)

If that was the case, and it looks like it was, then the club may be on sticky ground legally in the face of an unfair dismissal case. What level of misconduct was it and how is it set in his contract? Was this the first time? Others done it? etc etc

As I said above, leaks happen and Gary said he's done as much himself ( I was hinting at him), not good I know and worthy of discipline without doubt but an on the spot sacking???? In the face of a bigger recruitment picture seems rash, harsh and a bit nose to spite face.

I think this was an opportunity to cut costs which will be needed all over for next season.

And besides which is the sacking offence, leaking the team or picking it?

Is this fact or pure speculation?
It would be helpful for the board to make an informative statement, within the employment laws. Then perhaps individuals will stop guessing the reasons behind his removal.
He was an integral part of the clubs future, so what's next on their master plan of cockups?
MMc's departure should have been announced in the same press statement - then I would have some confidence that the board know what they're doing!
