Exeter City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 12.08.23

Well rather than giving him an all-over body wash, would he not have been more than happy with a bottle of deoderant? Then again, I don't know you personally and so I can only guess at your powers of peruasion ...
Its become a bit of a pre match ritial. Both jump in shower i wash his back etc sometimes i drop the soap you know how it goes.

Assuming Weir signed too late to be part of today's squad. Joseph is the strange one as he's either not fit or Crich doesn't think he's good enough to be part of the squad. Hopefully it's just match fitness he's working up and maybe part of Tuesday game

Great to see Lyons back although I note Connolly is on the bench, hopefully he isn't injured. I'd have wanted Trybull on the bench given the absence of CC. No Joseph either, again I hope that is just Critchley managing his recovery. I have to say that is a very attacking lineup. 😁
Connolly not on bench

Critchley always makes them wait

Connolly's played the last two games I think, so rested. But I agree an extra ball winner like Trybull wouldn't go amiss in there.

Hopefully Pennington won’t be out long, was hopeful he would be back for this.

Strong looking team overall and good to see Lyons in the starting 11.

Probably too early for Weir.

A bit concerned that Pennington, Connolly and Joseph aren't even on the bench, Weir won't have even trained with the squad yet so no surprise he doesn't feature. Trybull would have been useful today, I'm not sure he wants to be here, time will tell I suppose.
We could still do with another option up front.

I don't want you thinking I'm 'getting off' on this in any way, but when you mention how you 'wash his back etc', if only to satisfy my own curiosity, could I possibly ask you to elaborate on the 'etc' reference. I'm not what you would call the brightest, and nor am I what some might deem as particularly worldly, but I'm just a tad concerned I may be missing something here ...

They are on us quickly with a high press, neither Burton or Derby did that and it makes it more difficult for us as we don't have time on the ball. Something the tactics are going to need to deal with. They will get tired if they have to keep on pressing like this though. Counter attacks and then hit them hard in the last 30 minutes.
