Proud of the lad. Hope he has a brilliant career. He’s already beginning to prove his strength on the pitch, now he’s standing up for himself off the pitch as well. 👏 👏
 
What a great season, 30 goals, first team debut, the future is tangerine. We have a real talent on our hands, I hope he keeps progressing and turns into a multi million pound footballer who stays with the mighty and helps us to the promised land.

Well done Jake, very courageous, but with us and the club in the background, he must have been pretty sure we would back him 100%.

Twitter has been amazing, the only negatives I have seen have been in Arabic script, bots maybe?? The list of supportive clubs is pretty much the whole of English Professional football, with a few Scots as well.

I so look forward to a few years time when a gay footballer doesn't need to come out, maybe Jake has broken the logjam.

An exciting prospect, this young man, lets hope he gets his chance at First Team level and scores a few.

I hope he has a good career (preferably with us) it really shouldn't have to be a big deal though, but as it seems to be in some sports, he's been very brave about it. Now let his boots do the talking. 👍
 
Done the right thing, he now has control over his own life and isn't living in fear of something happening that isn't. Not that big a deal to most of the population, the people that are bothered are the unusual ones.

Probably been said before as I’ve not read all the replies, yes it shouldn’t be an issue but the fact is that it is.
Once again it’s Blackpool fc in the news,for good reasons, I’ve been supporting us for 45 years & it seems to me that we’ve had so many good & unique things to be proud of, at least ten I can think of such as the most exiting fa cup final,the only team to get promoted by the playoffs through all the divisions etc etc etc
This isn’t up there with those but it’s national news for now in a massively good way quite rightly so, & if it results in other sportsmen or woman coming out which I think it will then that’s brilliant
My youngest is 18 & I’d obviously accept it but would find it very very difficult in all honesty
very brave thing to do & hopefully he’ll carry on with the success he’s had in the under 18s to the first team- not particularly because of this but partly
The gay bar chant could still be done if people want to as I don’t think it’s homophonic & I sing it, although I won’t be bothering next season as I wouldn’t be comfortable with it, each to their own, plenty of other things to chant to piss off away fans in reply to the blackpools a shithole

Another reason as if I ever needed one not to be on Twatter……and whatever happened to tick the boxes with traffic lights 🚦 or whatever in😉😉…and for fxxx sake why would you need to be asked to answer are you a Bot😳.
….and yet some sheister wants to pay Billions of Dollars for the privilege of owning it.

Well done lad, maybe it'll even spur some senior players to come out. There must be loads of gay players having to to hide their sexuality and the more come out the less of an issue it will become. This is the 21st century after all. Although giving some of the events and politics going on around the world that doesn't necessarily mean progress.

I think blue ticks are only for confirmed people who are somebody known to say it's them or an official account.
