Leeds United v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 07.07.22

Negative back-passing again.
Far too easily dispossessed when in their half.
Really poor decision making.
Total lack of quality service in to the box.

Not much has changed, and considering we haven't signed anyone then it's not surprising.

That said, you can't tell much from a friendly and we are playing a couple of kids, and a pretty weak team in general, against decent opposition. We're missing Grimmy, Anderson, CJ, Gabriel, Ekpiteta, Yates, Lavery, in that first half, so it's most definitely not panic stations by any stretch.

It's a friendly FFS! It's a run out. look at players, tactics. Virtue needs to go, Apter isn't a right back, Maxwell needs to go, Holmes isn't ever to be in the 25, I'm not sure Garbutt is good enough either. I can see a few more going out on loan or sold and 5 or 6 coming in, that's what it's all about.
You think this is the gaffer deciding who he is going to ship out?

Barely caught the first 2 as the camera man was dog shit, that third was awful, the guy had time to nearly fall over and they still scored.

They looked fitter and had quality in the places we know we are vulnerable. Gelhardt in the middle for them is a step above anyone we have in midfield, solid on the ball and great passing. Definitely a good test to show the lads, and Appleton, there is lots of hard work to do. It’s an early friendly so it isn’t the end of the world and these sort of wake ups are important motivators.

And yes, shit camera tonight.

Important plus point - the new kit looks good out there, I think.

Let’s be honest, what new Manager would go out on a pre season friendly with all guns firing against a crap prem team…… especially when we need players in?
‘’Yeah, you played well at Leeds - I don’t really need to spend much bolstering the squad then’
Get battered - cheque book opens 😜

I see Appleton still going with the tight t shirt, showing the tattoos look. Not the best in my opinion prefer my managers to look dapper.

The battery on my laptop has run out, I can't be arsed recharging it. Hopefully no injuries and some fitness gained, that and the board now need to pull their fingers out and get some players in, are the only positives I can think of. As poor a performance as I've seen, friendly or not, that was pish.

Archie gray looked ok for them, not sure if he’s near the first team but certainly looked like a good engine to have in the middle of a three?
