Rosenior's Tangerine Army does though.
What? He's slipped in the betting? Oh no!Slipped slightly in the odds on Sky bet, maybe not a done deal. Hope it’s not Appleton.
Appleton isn’t being taken seriously by the bookies.Slipped slightly in the odds on Sky bet, maybe not a done deal. Hope it’s not Appleton.
I don't think he did a great job at allCan we not just accept that he did a great job for us and has moved on to a bigger job with a big chunk of cash coming back in return?
The bookies don’t take anyone seriously or non-seriously. They take bets and adjust the odds accordingly in a tiny market like this.Appleton isn’t being taken seriously by the bookies.
I’m still hopeful that Evatt might be the wildcard.

I don't know. Does anybody know why it's taking so long? It's more than a week now.Yes but why is it taking so long, oh, there’s another thread on this
Hasn’t the deadline for a take over at Derby been extended to 5pm today?I don't know. Does anybody know why it's taking so long? It's more than a week now.
I agree, the initial shortlist will be maybe 5 or 6 long I think then they will whittle it down to maybe a final 2 or 3 who will then have another longer interview before a decision is made. Middle of next week at the earliest I think before a decision is made.I think we just have an interview process to go through and we’re still in the midst of it.
Duff has clearly stalled at Barnsley (probably because we’re his preferred choice) and we won’t be making any decisions until we’ve spoke to all candidates and then most likely spoken at length to the final two or three again.
If "what happens next at Derby" is a feature of Roseniors thinking, I wouldn't think he's the man for us...The deadline has been extended yet again, to 5pm today. The question in Roseniors mind will be whether he thinks Blackpool will struggle next season , and if so whether he’d be better stay with Derby who will probably be favourites to go up.
Maybe, but it’s a big decision for him.If "what happens next at Derby" is a feature of Roseniors thinking, I wouldn't think he's the man for us...
In the depth of the Championship not his fault though!I'd be delighted with Rosenior, he may not have been a Head Coach but it is the next step. He has something Evatt and Duff also don't, recent in depth knowledge of the Championship. Think of all the research and preparation from last season, maybe links to attract some of the Derby kids as well.
It's bound to be in his thinking, he could be made redundant imminently if the takeover at Derby falls through. If "what happens next at Derby" is a feature of Roseniors thinking, I wouldn't think he's the man for us...
If he's using Potter at Brighton as a template for how the game should be played then he won't go far wrong. I particularly like his emphasis on 'bravery in possession'. He values players who try to be adventurous rather than always taking the easy option. Players are vulnerable when they try something and it doesn't come off, the crowd often get on their back. He sees it as a strength.I don't know if this has been posted before, but this a great article by Sean McGinlay giving insights and examples of Rosenior's thoughts on coaching:

Rosenior is set to move to Bloomfield Road as the club's new Head Coach, if reports are accurate.www.lancs.live
Now slipped out to 6/4Slipped slightly in the odds on Sky bet, maybe not a done deal. Hope it’s not Appleton.
Maybe but Brighton do get to the edge of the box and start overcomplicating things for the sake of it when it just would be easier to score. Like Critchley's Blackpool team did. They were getting jeered out of the Amex at times last season because their home form was shite when it came to having to force the issue. If he's using Potter at Brighton as a template for how the game should be played then he won't go far wrong. Ha, indeed, but Derby were/are a mess, to piece together a rag tag of journeymen and kids at the last minute and prepare, coach them to what would have been safety is a credit to Rooney, Rosenior and all their first team coaches. In the depth of the Championship not his fault though!
I'm just going on motd highlights really. Especially that thrashing of man u. Thought that was entertaining, attacking football at its best. Granted utd were crap that day but still. The pundits were all praising Potters work over the season, saying they just need that striker to be a real force next season. Maybe then they won't be overcomplicating stuff around the box. Finishing ninth ain't too bad though.Maybe but Brighton do get to the edge of the box and start overcomplicating things for the sake of it when it just would be easier to score. I'm hoping the next one in here believes in a possession based game but at a tempo where the players are allowed some individual thinking and risk taking. To shoot if there's a shot on. Instead of having to continually look for the extra pass to try to work the same shapes and angles for a six yard tap in to keep the xG Stat Gods happy.
I don't think he did a great job at all
My thoughts exactly. The deadline has been extended yet again, to 5pm today. The question in Roseniors mind will be whether he thinks Blackpool will struggle next season , and if so whether he’d be better stay with Derby who will probably be favourites to go up.
They would have finished just below us (l think) if they hadn’t had 21 points deducted which is a great effort for rag tag army.Ha, indeed, but Derby were/are a mess, to piece together a rag tag of journeymen and kids at the last minute and prepare, coach them to what would have been safety is a credit to Rooney, Rosenior and all their first team coaches.
Here's a bit of simplification from when he was temporarily in charge of Derby as part of a four man team after Cocu was sacked, pre Rooney.I think Potter is the modern English coach being trained in the art of getting too het up about players taking risks, losing the ball and getting hurt so wants control over every aspect. Walk the ball into the net.
What was it Critchley said about Dougall's two shots that got us promoted. I told him I didn't want him shooting as he's too wayward.
That's why you only tend to see these lads having a go and busting out the moves on the rare occasion the opposition almost do your job for you, like Man Utd in that game you watched, or Birmingham at our place. They can feel the tension ease on the touchline and know they're not on a rollocking for it.
It's this type of coach we'll probably attract next because that's how we're set up. But someone who can put their own twist on it and who still values some simplification in the game wouldn't be a bad thing.
I didn't get where I am today by parking the bus.Wasnt he in the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin.
I'm hoping, if LR gets the job, there'll be a shed load of Championship players he will have contacts with.Sounds OK to me. The objective for anyone coming in here is to make the whole greater than the sum of parts, which does need some deeper thinking. But you're still dealing with lge1/2 lads trying to compete in the Championship and sometimes the simple instructions are the best ones.
