Blackpool v Everton Matchday Thread 24.07.22

I swear everytime ekpiteta doesnt play the rest of the defence collapses, he is the most important player in the team but this isnt great viewing at all, its only pre season but we havent showed anything of promise all pre season really, very worried about this season

Unfortunately we are looking every bit League one and that's being generous. Unless Appleton gets some quality in the building quickly it's going to be a long hard slog. These players can't even do the basics right

Any kind of Everton press when we do finally get the ball results in us giving them back.
Remember exactly how poor Everton were last season, we’re making them look like world beaters

Everton just got thumped 4-0 by some dodgy Yank team. We are so poor.

Their second looked miles off. That said, no snap in midfield without Kenny or Connolly. Gaz being isolated too. Has Keshi had a touch yet?

If we're to play with Madine then surely he needs a twin striker close to, and feeding off him.
He's not very mobile and his touch isn't great.
If he's in the Toshack role he needs a Keegan.
I'd say his touch is fine but he needs support. No-one getting up near him yet. A couple of decent signs from Fiorini.

It’s funny in a way. General cry was for a more attacking formation. A team with attacking midfielders.
Watching this you are thinking, 4-4-2 and defensive midfielders….

Still pre season so let’s not panic. We often learn more from defeat than victory.

Need to consider the opposition here.
Practically a championship side based on last season and easily could have been. Everton just got thumped 4-0 in America, add the fact all there players are probably jet lagged then this is piss poor.
