OLD PICTURES OF BLACKPOOL FC

A pat on the back if you can name the Blackpool player to the left of the ball as you look.
Additional kudos if you can name the West Ham player having the shot.

The Blackpool player is John Prentis standing in for Jimmy Armfield. This was his 8th and final appearance for us.

The WHU player shooting is Brian Dear , who was one of the 4 WHU players fined for the 'Brian London incident 'a few years later.

The game was played on 19/3/66 and Blackpool won the game 2 1. This was the first win in 8 and we won 4 of the next 6 games to more or less ensure survival in the top division.

Great picture Fess and super information as well. I was on that day and even though we flirted with relegation most seasons we had some good players and played good football.

A year before my time. I take it that is Waiters in goal. Who is our defender stood just in front of him? Looks a bit like Armfield on that photo.

Yes , Waiters in goal , Tommy Thompson is the player just in front of him . The other Blackpool players in the picture are Hughie Fisher
on his knees and John McPhee ,I think, far right.

I was on that day and a night never forgotten in the memory bank.
No footage which there wasn't those days which was a shame.
An old preston fan once told me he'd never seen the ground so full it was a sea of tangerine.
