Pilley guilty

Just to flag up that after I received news late last night I posted on another thread that something may be imminent on Pilley this morning. With my impeccable sources across the Fylde I realise that this now elevates me to an 'in the know poster' on here.
I won't be commenting on the BFC managers job till at least Monday so no direct messages please. You'll just have to wait. Rumours that I'm starting an Alan Nixon type paid patreon site are sadly way off the mark.

Someone I know well was a senior member of staff at BES a few years ago. She left due to the goings on there and this is absolutely no surprise. To think a few on here wanted him to buy our club.

Oh dear, bad news for the cods.

Let's face it they're punching way above their weight.

If his funding goes, they'll fall fast I'd imagine.

Someone said the other day parts of a Thornton school was 50/50 cods, which if we have any intention of growing we need to hoover up all the surrounding areas, not let bloody Fleetwood take some. Just shows how much more there is to be done.

I only care about BFC doing the best it can, having that vanity project fail can only be beneficial.

We joke but why not. They’re going straight back to pub leagues so why not put a bid in for the whole lot. A team of painters could transform the colour scheme in a weekend turning the place tangerine. We’ll even add 50k onto the price for that new balloon thing they’ve just installed
It would solve our training ground problem in one and the Ladies can play at their ground as will be big enough 👍 win win. We could throw in tram tickets with a bundle deal to the Cod kids army😂

Yep
save ss a few Bob
more £s for the squad 👍
please note that this a purely hypothetical post and shouldn’t be taken seriously for the likes of phill please don’t reply 🤣🤣🤣

A lot of hot air being spoken on here which is no surprise really.
Ever thought of Pilley passing the running of the club down to another family member just like old Owen did?
Talks of the club going out of business are just laughable.
And Blackpool taking over Pool Foot even more laughable. 🤣

Maybe but when the establishment comes after you you are in big trouble

Jaffa

You might be right I’ve no idea but to suggest the claims are laughable is a tad short sighted

The club is heavily reliant on the financial input of Andy Pilley and its main sponsor is BES

With Andy Pilley facing serious difficulties both personally and financially it’s not wide of the mark to suggest that the clubs future may be in jeopardy

This article a couple of years ago suggests the club needs AP’s input

I personally think it would be a great shame if FTFC went out of business but it has to be a possibility surely

I’m not sure it’s a viable proposition without AP and can’t see people forming a queue to buy it

I wouldn't be so sure.

(1) There has to be a strong chance that Pilley will be subject to a disqualifying condition, and I'm not sure that the EFL will wear just a simple transfer within the family. The suspicion that AP retained a "controlling interest" would be very high, I would have thought. If he goes away for more than eighteen months, there is likely to be a legal framework put in place that will bar him for life anyway.

(2) It's a club with well over £20m of debt, almost all of which is owed to him. So far so good, if he doesn't want it back. But what if he's effectively forced to sell? Will he be so magnanimous then? And what about the club's operating model? Charging buttons for a handful of season tickets only works if the owner is willing to put tens of thousands of pounds in every week. And owners like that don't grow on trees. The fact is that the club has almost no potential for growth, as things stand, allied to a mountain of debt. It's not a very attractive proposition..

(3) I think you may be right about that. But gift horses, and all that....

Stop having a cheap pop. He is a Blackpool fan, has been all his life. Only took over the Cods because Oyston wouldn’t entertain him. And he’s pumped a lot of money in to the Fylde Coast and employed hundreds. I for 1 didn’t want him sent down.
Unless he’s ripped off people who are struggling with the cost of living crisis I don’t particularly take any enjoyment out of him getting sent down, I’d take his manager off his payroll though judging by some of the people we’ve been linked with lately

Just a few question some on here might be able to answer for me as I genuinely have no idea..
1) what will happen to the clubs he owns one in Ireland. One in South Africa and another one abroad. As an owner found guilty of fraud etc ?
2) Will all his assets be frozen ?
3) looking on cods Facebook some seem to think his son will take over ? Has his son Jamie got any criminal convictions? Also is it so easy to transfer ownership?
4) is his energy company BES still operating and will it be able to continue feeding his football clubs?
Thanks in advance.

I heard that around 28 energy firms have gone bust recently.
Obviously having a hard time and this may be the last straw for BES.

Pilley seems to be a person that is not afraid to open his Wallet and spend.
His he that wealthy to let a club go massively in debt or his he another Disley type character.
What happened to Disley?

I have no affiliation whatsoever towards Fleetwood Town, but think it's too easy for us all to laugh and sneer about Andy Pilley and the Cods. I honestly feel that if the Oyston Family hadn't sold BFC to Simon Sadler, we wouldn't have survived as a club through the Covid lockdown period.

All a bit hard to say at the moment.

I wouldn’t anticipate an immediate asset freeze, certainly wouldn’t be automatic

I would imagine that Pilley’s businesses are worth more (far more) as a going concern than as ‘parts’, which may be significant when it comes to proceeds of crime proceedings etc

Note also that they’re mostly, if not all, of in sectors that are subject to significant levels of regulation

Handing control to his son is the easy part, but regulators may want evidence that Pilley and other people convicted are not able to directly control the businesses. And of course it’s also dependent on whether customers/suppliers/partners/banks etc continue working with them … it’s going to be a big and complicated task for whoever ends up wading through it

Fleetwood are tied up with a company called Commercial Power something under a company called Jaymel, which also owns Poolfoot

Good luck with that pleb Jamie(AP's son) in control of the club he couldn't run a bath.

Ah the chap that’s supposedly part of their “firm”? Hahaha.

In all seriousness, what a relief he never bought us, because we would have been in the shit and thank god for Simon Sadler.

Don’t want them to go out of business or anything, as it’s enjoyable playing a local team. However, this is a bit of enjoyment for their shenanigans when we got relegated on Twitter.

Going to be interesting to see what happens for sure.
