No it wasn't, I expressed an opinion on the way the tweet went down on social media, given the open goal it left. I've not said I was massively bothered by it. Just didn't think it was that social media savvy and many agreed.

You replied to a nobber on this thread, yet suddenly I'm bothered when I do it and now you apparently couldn’t give a shit... bit of double standards there.

Why is this thread full of people putting us down? When it was the big return to BR there was such positivity and optimism - what has killed that on this board?

I said Fleetwood having 50% of the attendance in jest. Not even Fleetwood could do that. Maybe Carlisle.
 
I agree with what @Phil_bfc deux has been writing in that to get a few more tickets sold before early bird starts there has to be a bit of a buzz about the place and it just feels as if it’s as flat as a pint of BFC beer.
There is probably lots going on behind the scenes but communication has been really poor from the club this last few months and it’s easier to forget to renew than it is to actually do it.

And to get a buzz going surely we have to make an early signing or two. Please don't make it like last season when week after week passed by and then we made two late permanent signings, one at least that as a last minute panic!

Yep bizarre from the club - they have an amazing product to sell but yet they communicate zilch🤷🏿‍♂️

Could be better but its not zilch. In the last week we've had announcements of a new sporting director, two assistant coaches, and a friendly with Hibs. Players will come once Downes has got his feet under the desk. Most clubs have done little or no transfer business.

Do you get extra extra early bird discount for rushing to get your tix? I know a few fans and nine have renewed yet but all are doing before July. I’m clueless how many have sold up to now n can’t be arsed scrolling up to maybe find out. It’ll pick up as days go by n maybe hit 4K or whatever in the next few weeks. At the end of the day it is what it is. A decent signing will see more tix sold. Some need convincing more than others and most will renew regardless when they get chance or can be arsed. #chillax n have a beer …. or a smoke.

I’ve not renewed I might buy one of those half season tickets midway through the season it depends on the intent shown 200 mile round trip every game for me big commitment, made 8 games last season lost out massively

Wow, that is a massive commitment. This is why the club needs to engage with the fans and be much more positive. You’re not travelling 200 miles if there is no talk of getting promoted. However if the club is buzzing and upbeat then you would probably buy a season ticket.

I'm travelling 180 miles. Didn't think twice before renewing. The poster talks about intent from the club.

How about some intent from the fans? With a huge cut in TV money, season ticket money becomes all the more important. Back the club.
 
I’ll still back the club but I’m not committing to a season ticket I’ll certainly make 8 games like I did last year I just won’t be so out of pocket

We actually had a positive feeling season end despite going down. But seemed to begin to lose a bit of that positivity once the season ended and nothing was heard for a while, bar the SS silencing people saga.

It was very quiet up until the ST info was just released wasn't it? For me the club needs to start controlling the narrative a bit more at times, I get if there's nothing to announce... but leave a vacuum and people fill it especially after a very negative season, fans probably needed to hear an explanation earlier, we did get it in the end.

The ST's were then announced with little fanfare, for eg no video of fans in the stands like last time, ok it's a slightly different feel after going down but still. Sadly none of the ideas people said on here were implemented and there were some good ones, ST's with perks etc.

The ST prices didn't exactly cause a rush to the ticket office, especially with the card charge, the general reaction from most fans I've seen wasn't terrible like an Appleton type reaction, but also there wasn't many praising it.

Critchley coming back whilst I'm OK and happy with it now, I wasn't calling for it at the time, it wasn't giving the popular Dobbie the chance or the buzz you get from someone new. The video with SS and Critchley was decent tbf, I quite liked it as it's the most we've heard from him in a while.

Good to finally get the sporting director, a positive for me although obviously no-one knows too much about him yet.

The coaches coming back wasn't exactly unexpected but also wasn't going to get anoyne jumping around with glee.

I've already renewed my ST but just judging the general feeling on various social media, people are not that excited so far and tbh I can see that side.

I'm looking forward to this season in many ways, as I think it'll be a far better season than what we just had and if we get it right we might just do it.

But it's fair to say there hasn't been much of a buzz created so far.

But also like Wiz says, it's also on fans too to show some intent, it does work both ways. Yes the club needs to lift fans, for me it's not done that as much as some of us would have tried to do.

But equally if 7k of us had renewed in the first few weeks, said you know what, let's try and get back to championship and have some belief, that would give SS and the club a lift, seeing that many behind them already and giving the club some guaranteed income.

But not everyone has that mentality and it was obvious after the season we had we'd need to hit a few things bang on to get fans buzzing by this point. Still, plenty of time really and now the real excitement can happen of signings.
 
It would be good if the club had a 'virtual' season ticket where fans abroad could pay upfront for all the streamed matches on Tangerine TV plus online content for the year. I know a few supporters who won't make it back enough to justify a season ticket, but would pay a fair amount for a season pass.

We do need to get back to where we were pre Appleton. Regular positive videos on TTV. Suddenly stopped. I wonder why?

They took Sean McThingy off lancs live and silenced him too! Is he in the metal box? If so, where is it? And does it still glow inside?

At the same time I do hanker for the olden golden days when we knew next to nothing and football was just matches you rocked up to and Summer was a total break from football. I wish i could switch off....

Hats off to you, not many fans would do that. I just think a football club has the best product to promote.
We are a big club and should do more to stop Sandgrowners support Liverpool, Leeds, Man UTD etc.
Come on Sadler get the youngsters on board.

I missed a load of games last season due to rail strikes, health problem and midweek games which are difficult for me to attend, being an exile, but have renewed and my sister and family, i'm told, are renewing when returning from Italy in two week's time. I've been through thick and thin many times and the present situation is nothing new to me. I am a Blackpool fan and back the club (Oyston out years excepted) so get your hands in your pockets and do the same. It's a no brainer for me.

Where do you lay the blame for the catastrophe that happened last season?

Correct me if im wrong here, what you're saying is that the fans have to pay for the mistakes that cost us our place in Div2? We would nearly have to shift 25000 STs to cover the shortfall because of the mismanagement.

Sorry to be the customary English grammar 'bore', especially when it concerns a scribe I hold in the very highest regard, but, if I may, I just quickly wish to raise a point with regard to the above extract, and I quote: "... when returning from Italy in two week's time..."; which should actually read as, "... when returning from Italy in two weeks' time..." The minor difference being, the misplaced apostrophe in the short passage reading "in two week's time...", which, grammatically speaking, should actually read as: "... in two weeks' time..." with the correct plural possessive apostrophe placed thus: weeks'; and not week's, the latter being a singular possessive apostrophe.

For those of you who managed to stick with this yawn-inducing excercise without (i) dozing off, or (ii) slipping into a coma, can I just say thank you for your perseverance and fortitude. And I'm also sure, based on the quality of his extensive back-catalogue of work, Curryman certainly doesn't need to take pointers from someone who, until a relatively short time ago, didn't actually know what the purpose of an apostrophe was supposed to be. And I kid you not...
 
You get the hardcore supporters who will go to every game even if we had 11 Scott Darton’s on the pitch. They are few and far between though. It’s the ‘regular’ fans we need to attract as they will be the difference between a poor and decent season ticket count. As others have said, it’s very stale at the moment and they certainly won’t be rushing to the ticket office.

It doesn’t make any difference whether we like it or not. Sadler has spent the last four years telling us he only the ‘guardian’ of the club and the same amount of time proving he’s the boss and what he says goes. Which he is perfectly entitled to do, he laid out the millions to buy it, however I wish he would give over pretending we are involved. Apart from shelling out our hard earned, he doesn’t give a monkeys what we think.
