On a day when Saudi Arabia beat Argentina at the World Cup it sparked a memory. I seem to remember when I was growing up in Blackpool in the 1970s that Blackpool beat Saudi Arabia 5-0. Anyone else remember that? Or did I just dream it?

The surprise is that anyone is surprised. Been like that for years. Never give Blackpool any credit. I gave up listening years ago. We travel 90 mins to games and long since realised even that wasn't long enough to get any decent mention of Blackpool. Their loss.

Wasn't it also at Huddersfield that we won an FA Cup reply knowing a home tie awaited against Spurs with Lineker, Gazza, Paul Stewart et al. I remember hugging a complete stranger on the terraces when we scored/won. Or maybe that was somewhere else? :)

Yes born in St Anne's Hospital, St Anne's Road East, 1967. Lived in St Anne's and Ansdell. Live in Cumbria now. First went to Bloomfield in 1974 when sat near Brian London in South Stand. Now a South Stand season ticket holder.
